Hearing it, Prtha and Subala's daughter, and Yajnaseni, and Madhavi, and the wives of the kings of the earth, and his own cowherd women, were all filled with wonder at that bond of love for Krsna, for Hari, the self of all, their eyes brimming with tears. While the women were talking so with the women, and the men with the men, sages came there, wanting to see Krsna and Rama. Dvaipayana and Narada, Cyavana, Devala, Asita, Visvamitra, Satananda, Bharadvaja, and Gautama; Rama with his pupils, the revered Vasistha, Galava, Bhrgu, Pulastya, Kasyapa and Atri, Markandeya, Brhaspati; Dvita, Trita and Ekata, and the sons of Brahma, and Angiras, Agastya and Yajnavalkya, and Vamadeva and the others besides.

Seeing them, the kings and the rest, who had been sitting there before, rose up at once, and the Pandavas, and Krsna and Rama, and bowed to those whom the world honours. All of them honoured the sages, and the Unfallen with Rama honoured them likewise: with welcome, a seat, water for the feet, water for the guest, garlands, incense and ointments. When they were seated at their ease, the Bhagavan, whose body is the guarding of dharma, spoke to them, while that great assembly held its speech and listened.
