But Nanda, who did what his friend loved, out of love for Govinda and Rama, saying today, and tomorrow, stayed on three months, honoured by the Yadus. Then, filled with everything he could wish for, with the whole settlement and with his kinsmen, with ornaments of the highest price, with linen and with many costly furnishings, and taking the gifts given by Vasudeva and Ugrasena, by Krsna and Uddhava and Bala and the rest, he was sent on his way by the Yadus, and went. Nanda and the cowherds and the cowherd women, unable to draw back again the minds they had cast upon Govinda's lotus feet, went to Mathura. When their kin had gone back, the Vrsnis, whose god is Krsna, seeing the rains close at hand, went again to Dvaravati.

They told the people of the great festival of the lord of the Yadus, and of what had happened on the journey to the ford: the meeting with well-wishers and the rest.
