1Then one day, when his two sons came and made their bow at his feet, Vasudeva welcomed them and spoke with love to Sankarsana and the Unfallen. 2Having heard the sages' words, which pointed to the greatness of his sons, and trust having risen in him at their feats, he addressed them and spoke. 3Krsna, Krsna, great yogin, Sankarsana, everlasting one: I know you two to be, before my eyes, the supreme ground and the supreme Person of this world. 4Wherein, whereby, from what, whose, for whom, whatever, in whatever way, and whenever this comes to be: that is the Bhagavan himself, the lord of the ground and the Person. 5This world of many kinds, sent forth from yourself, one beyond the reach of the senses: having entered it by yourself, self, you carry it as breath and as the living being, unborn one.
