The powers that belong to breath and the rest, the makers of the world, are the supreme one's; and since they hang on another and are unlike him, the moving of the two is only the moving of things that move. The loveliness, the blaze, the light and the being of moon, fire, sun, stars and lightning; the steadiness of the mountains; the earth's own working, which is smell: in truth you are these. The satisfying and the giving of life that are the waters', you are these, god, and the waters themselves and their taste; vigour, endurance, strength, stirring and going, which are the wind's: these are yours, Lord. You are the room the quarters make, and the quarters; the sky, the bursting out of sound, the support; you are sound and syllable and the Om, and the setting of shapes apart from one another.

You are the sense within the senses, and the gods, and their favour; you are the waking of the understanding, and the true remembering that belongs to the living being. Among the elements you are the origin of the elements, among the senses the taijasa, among the constructions of mind the vaikarika, and the ground that lies beneath them. Among things here that pass away you are what does not pass away, as among the changes of a substance only the substance itself is made out.
