Verse 49

⁴⁴It is not today that we have got the sight of the supreme Person, the highest. We had it when, having sent this forth by his powers, he entered it by the being of his own self, ⁴⁵as a sleeping man, having made another world by his own mind and his own maya, the world of his dream, goes into it and shows there; ⁴⁶and as you shine in the heart within, for men whose selves are clean, who hear and speak and worship you always, who bow to you, who talk of you with one another. ⁴⁷Standing in the heart, you yet stand very far off from those whose thought their works have scattered; and though you cannot be laid hold of by one's own powers, you are near to those whose selves have come at the last to the qualities.

⁴⁸Salutation to you, the supreme Self of those who know the inner self; to you who are not a self, whose death is parted off from your own self, who have taken on a mark that has a cause and has none, whose sight your own maya neither covers nor shuts in. ⁴⁹So instruct us who are your own servants. What are we to do, god? For the trouble of men has this for its end, that you come within the eye.
