Bhagavan said: Having heard this instruction on the self, the sons of Brahma, the perfected, then honoured Sanandana, knowing the way of the self. So this, the taste of every recitation, of the ancient tellings and of the upanisads, was drawn up by the great ones born before, who travel the sky. And you, heir of Brahma, holding this instruction on the self with trust, go over the earth as you please: it burns up men's desires. So he, self-possessed, having taken with trust what the sage had set out, being full and holding what he had heard, spoke, king: the sage whose vow is a hero's. Salutation to that Bhagavan, to Krsna whose fame is unstained, who takes on lovely fragments of himself so that all beings may not come to be again.
