25The lords of the gods, not knowing what could be done about it, stayed silent. Then he went to Vaikuntha, which shines, beyond darkness, 26where Narayana himself is, the highest going of those who have set the world aside, of the peaceful who have laid down the rod, from where one who has gone does not come back. 27Seeing him in such distress, the Bhagavan, who crushes what is crooked, went out from far off to meet him, having become a boy student by yogamaya: 28with girdle and deerskin and staff and beads, blazing with light like fire; and with kusa grass in his hand he saluted him, like one well taught. 29Bhagavan said: Son of Sakuni, you are plainly tired. Why have you come so far? Rest a moment. This self of a man milks out everything he could want.
30If what you have set out to do can be told for our hearing, mighty one, let it be spoken. For the most part a man works out his own ends by others who are taken hold of.
