Krsna stood in the highest duty of householders; and his queens were sixteen thousand, and a hundred more. Of those women, who were jewels among women, eight were named before, headed by Rukmini, king, and their sons in order. In each one Krsna begot ten and ten sons, in as many as were his wives, the Lord, whose going is never in vain. Of them, whose strength was unchecked, eighteen were great chariot-fighters of generous fame. Hear their names from me. Pradyumna and Aniruddha, Diptiman and Bhanu, Samba, Madhu, Brhadbhanu, Citrabhanu, Vrka, Aruna, Puskara and Vedabahu, Srutadeva, Sunandana, Citrabahu and Virupa, Kavi and Nyagrodha too.

Among these sons of the enemy of Madhu, lord of kings, Pradyumna, Rukmini's son, was the first, and he was like his father.
