You who best know the self: there are those who mostly do not worship the Bhagavan, Hari. What end is there for them, whose desires are not stilled and who have not mastered themselves? From the mouth, the arms, the thighs and the feet of the Person, along with the stages of life, the four classes were born, the brahmins and the rest, each apart by the strands. Those among them who do not worship the Person himself, the Lord out of whom they came, and who make light of him, fall out of their place and go down. Some are far from the stories of Hari and far from the praising of the Unfallen: women, sudras and the rest. They deserve the pity of men like you.

A brahmin, or a kshatriya or a vaisya, who has come close to Hari's place by the birth the Veda gives, and even so speaks of nothing but the received texts, is bewildered.
