71Seeing them wrapped in the meshes just so, seized by death and struggling, he too, wretched and knowing nothing, fell into the meshes himself. 72The cruel hunter, having got him, the dove who kept a household, and the little doves and the she-dove, went home with his aim accomplished. 73So a householder with no peace in himself, who takes his pleasure in the pairs, is wretched like the bird: feeding his household, he sinks down, and all that hangs on him with him. 74A man who has reached the world of men, the door of release standing open, and who clings to his house like the bird: they call him one who fell after he had climbed.
