Draw the mind in, then let go of that too· Verses 42–46

Let him meditate on that tender form, setting his mind on every limb; and drawing the senses back from their objects with the mind, let the steady man lead that mind wholly into me, with the understanding for his charioteer. Then let him draw in that mind, which had spread over the whole of it, and hold it in one place, and think of nothing else at all, but call up the sweetly smiling face. When the mind has found its footing there, let him draw it back and hold it in the open sky; and letting even that go, having climbed to me, let him think of nothing whatever. With his thought so gathered, he sees me alone as the self within the self; and in me, the self of all, he sees light joined with light.

For a yogin who yokes his mind with a meditation as keen as this, the reeling among things and knowings and acts will quickly go out.
