12Of the Vedas the Golden Womb; of mantras the threefold syllable Om. Of letters I am the letter A; of the metres I am the feet. 13Of all the gods I am Indra; of the Vasus I am the carrier of the offering. Of the Adityas I am Visnu; of the Rudras the blue and red one. 14Of the brahmin sages I am Bhrgu; of the royal sages I am Manu. Of the sages among the gods I am Narada; of cows, the one who holds the offering. 15Of the lords of the accomplished, Kapila; of birds I am Suparna. Of the lords of creatures I am Daksa; of the fathers I am Aryaman. 16Know me, Uddhava, as Prahlada among the Daityas, the lord of the demons; as the moon among stars and herbs; as the lord of wealth among yaksas and raksasas.
17Of great elephants, Airavata; of the creatures of the waters, Varuna the master. Of the burning and the shining, the sun; and of men, the king. 18Of horses, Uccaihsravas; of metals I am gold. Of those who hold in, I am Yama; of snakes I am Vasuki. 19Of the great serpents I am the Endless; of the horned and the fanged, the lion. Of the stages of life I am the fourth; of the classes the first, faultless one.
