The yoga of devotion was told you before, faultless one, since you were taking pleasure in it. I shall tell it again: the highest ground of devotion to me. Trust in the deathless telling of me; the praising of me aloud without ceasing; standing fast in my worship; the singing of me with hymns; care in serving me; bowing to me with every limb; honouring those devoted to me above oneself; the thought of me held in all beings; and work at things done for my sake, dear one; the sounding of my qualities with the voice; the handing over of the mind to me; the letting go of every desire; the giving up of wealth for my sake, and of enjoyment and of pleasure; and whatever is sacrificed, given, poured in the fire, muttered, whatever vow, whatever austerity, done for my sake.

By such forms of dharma, Uddhava, in men who make themselves over to me, devotion to me comes to birth. What other end is left over for such a man?
