Not knowing this intent of mine, which is hidden, they are made of the things of sense. If a liking for killing should be there — then in sacrifice, and there only; it is not a command. Taking their pleasure in killing, wanting a pleasure of their own, wicked men worship the gods with sacrifices of beasts seized for it, and the fathers, and the lords of the spirits. Shaping in their hearts the blessings of that world beyond, which is like a dream, which is not real and only pleasant to hear of, they give their goods away as a merchant does. Standing in passion, clarity and darkness, taking their pleasure in passion, clarity and darkness, they worship Indra and the other gods, and not me in that same way.

Having worshipped the gods here with sacrifices, we shall go and take our pleasure in heaven; and when that is over, may we be born here in great houses and great families. For men whose minds are scattered like this by flowering speech, who are full of themselves and too greedy, even talk of me gives no pleasure.
