57Thrown down, dishonoured by bad men, made a fool of or grudged, beaten or shut up, or cut off from his livelihood, 58spat on or urinated on by the ignorant, shaken in many such ways: a man who wants what is best, when he has come to that hard place, should lift himself by himself. 59How am I to understand this? Tell us, best of speakers. I think this trespass of what is not real upon the self very hard to bear. 60Even for the learned, self of all, Nature is the stronger — except for those set on your dharma, who are at peace and who live at your feet.
