Taking my stand on this standing in the supreme Self, in which the greatest sages of old lived, I shall cross the darkness whose far shore is hard to reach, and by serving Mukunda's feet, by that alone. Bhagavan said: Weary of it all, his money gone and his weariness gone with it, having gone forth and wandering the earth in this way, put down even by bad men and not shaken out of his own duty, the sage spoke that song. There is no other giver of pleasure and pain to a man than the wandering of his own mind. Friends, neutrals, enemies, the round of birth itself: all of it is made by darkness. So with your whole self, dear one, hold the mind in by the understanding, joined to me by letting it enter into me. This much is the whole gathering of yoga.

Whoever, well collected, holds to this song sung by the mendicant, which stands firm in Brahman, having it heard and hearing it himself, is never overcome by the pairs.
