King, know that the birth and the passing and the doings of the highest one when he bears a body are a mimicry made by maya, like an actor's. Having made this by himself and entered it and played in it, and at the end drawn it in, he stands at rest in his own greatness. He who by a mortal body brought back the teacher's son from where he had been taken, to Yama's world, and brought you back too when you were burnt by the highest weapon, being one who gives shelter; who conquered even the Lord who is the ender of the ender: was he unable to guard himself, he who sent the hunter to heaven with his body still on him?

Even so, he who is the one cause and no other in the standing and the arising and the passing of everything, who holds every power, did not wish to carry on here the body that was left over. What is a mortal body for? He was showing the going of one who rests in himself. Whoever rises in the morning and, holding himself in, sings out this highest going of Krsna with devotion, comes to that same going, than which there is none higher.
