Kings in the shape of barbarians· Verses 40–43

These rulers of the ground stand in one time, king, and are barbarians for the most part: bent on wrongdoing and on lies, giving little, quick and hard in their anger, killers of women, of children, of cows and of brahmins, set on the wives and the wealth of other men. They rise and go down almost together, with little strength in them and short lives. Unfinished, with the rites let go, covered over by passion and darkness, these barbarians in the shape of kings will eat their own people. And the countries that have such lords, and take their manner and their conduct and their talk from them, will be worn down by one another and by the kings, and go to ruin.
