12Brahma, Bhrgu, Bhava, Daksa and the other sons of Brahma, and men and gods and fathers and spirits, were all greatly astonished at him. 13So, holding the great vow, that yogin meditated by austerity, recitation and restraint upon the one beyond the reach of the senses, the afflictions in his inward self struck down. 14While the yogin joined his mind in this way by the great yoga, a long stretch of time went by, made up of six ages of Manu. 15Knowing this, in this seventh age, they say, Purandara grew uneasy at that austerity, brahmin, and set about breaking it. 16He sent to the sage gandharvas and apsarases, and Desire, and Spring with the wind off Malaya, and with them Passion's Child and Drunkenness.
17They came to his hermitage on the northern flank of the snow mountain, where the river Puspabhadra runs and the rock they call Citra stands, mighty one.
