The white body, and the last salutation· Verses 45–49

Clarity, passion and darkness, Lord, friend of the self, are yours and made of maya, and they are the causes of this world's standing and dissolving and rising. You hold them in play. The one made of clarity is for calm; the other two are not, and from them come men's ruin and delusion and fear. So the skilled here worship that white body of yours, Bhagavan, dear to you and dear to your own; for the Satvatas call clarity the form of the Person, and from it come the world and freedom from fear and the self's own happiness, and from nothing else. Salutation then to the Bhagavan, to the Person, to the vast one, to the all and the teacher of all, to the highest deity; to Narayana the sage, and to Nara, best among men, to the swan, to him whose speech is held in, to the lord of the Vedas.

A man whose wits wander by the false roads of the senses does not know him, though he is there in his own breaths, in his heart, in the paths of his sight; his mind is covered by that maya of his. And that same one, the first of all, having brought the Veda down from you, the teacher of all, the seeing of whom is the Veda, the shining out of the self's own secret, and over whom the poets are bewildered though they strive, the unborn one at their head: to that great Person, who takes a shape to match whatever any doctrine speaks of, whose waking is hidden in himself, I bow.
