In plain words

The cowherd girls, waking a girl so dear that Kṛṣṇa himself follows her: O lady, you who kept the vow and now enjoy heaven! Will you, who will not open the door, not even give us an answer? Long ago, one day, Kumbhakarṇa fell into the mouth of death at the hands of the holy one, dharma itself [as Rāma], Nārāyaṇa of the crown of fragrant tulasi, who gives us the drum when we sing his praise: did he lose to you, and hand you his great sleep? O you who are so very drowsy, O rare jewel, come to your senses, come, and open the door. Take it up and heed it, girl of ours.
