Others have died: why should I put on mourning? Mourn them, if you yourself are going to live. I shall not die; it is the world that dies. Now I have met the one who gives life. *(refrain)* This body, rubbed with perfume, gives off its scent, and for that pleasure Paramānand is forgotten. One little well, five water carriers. The rope has snapped, and still the beaten mind goes on filling. Says Kabīr, one thought has come clear to me: there is no well, and there are no water carriers.
