In plain words
Allah is one, and he lives in the mosque; then whose is the rest of the land? The Hindu makes his home in the image and the name. In neither of the two has anyone found the heart of it. Allah, Rām, I live by your name. Show your mercy, Sāī. *(refrain)* Hari has his dwelling in the country of the south; Allah has his station in the west. Search in the heart; in the heart, in the heart itself, search: this is the place, this is the station. The Brahmin keeps his twenty-four fasts; the qāzī keeps the month of Ramzān. They set eleven months aside, and in the one month they put the treasure. What came of the bathing at Uḍīsā? What of the head bowed down in the mosque? There is deceit in the heart, and he offers the *nivāj*; what then of going on hajj to the Kaaba? So many women and men you have shaped, and all of them are forms of you. Kabīr is a child of Rām and of Allah, and every guru and pīr is mine. Says Kabīr, listen, men and women: fall into the shelter of the One. Repeat the Nām and nothing else, mortal, and then the crossing is certain. *nivāj*, the namāz, the prayer said at its appointed hours.
