In plain words

Daśaratha, lamenting to Rāma: Having bowed at the two firm feet of the Lord [Nārāyaṇa], you stood ready to become king, with the prosperous city worshipping and praising you, about to sit on the lion throne; and she [Kaikēyi] said, "Go, wander into the vast forest." O my Rāma! Heeding the word of Kaikēsi, who bore you, how well I made you rule the four-fold land, my good son, I myself!
