In plain words

Father, we have not come to you newly, as servants. We are of a line that has come down generation after generation, doing the service of your feet with our heads. What we speak is your five letters. We lay them in our minds and live with them every day as in waking, and we are lovers who recite them even in dreams. What we listen to, so that viṉai may perish, is your great glory. What we draw back and restrain is the witless heart that strayed into mean paths other than your path. What we cherish as treasure is the emblems of Rudra. Morning and evening, what we move our feet for is to circle your temple. What we fashion nobly with our hands, Lord, is meant for the many services of your temple. Unceasingly we melt, thinking of you, and the tears stream down. What we see with the eye, everything seen in any world, is the one state in which you stand as them. For this dog to go with his head to anything but the way of your feet is not fitting, even if the surging sea should overturn. Therefore, will the crooked understanding ever come to me, the understanding of the hunters in false ascetic guise? To catch people in their hands they cast the long net of deceitful words. They prepare the pit of the sects, force human beasts into it where it lies ready, trap them in endless vows and sink them. Foam and waves and swirling eddies and boundless masses of spray stir in the roaring sea, swelling and shrinking, shining and appearing; they become countless, and they subside again in the great sea. In just that way, all that moves and stands appears in you and subsides in you. You do not appear from anything; you do not subside into anything. You are hard for the heavenly ones to reach; you are beyond the reach of the Vedas. You have entered the midst of the people of the four Vedas and settled there, Lord of the heavens, who dance in the Hall of Tillai, the red-gold old town!

Line by line

As servants, newly come, we have not reached you; O Father, your the service of your feet with the head performing, we are of the lineage come down generation after generation. What we speak is your five letters; them in our minds laying, as in waking, daily practising, even in dream reciting, we are lovers. For vinai to perish, what we hear is your great glory; what we draw back is the one spread into mean paths, not your path, the witless heart, restraining it. As treasure what we cherish is the Rudra emblems. Morning and evening, what we move our feet for is your temple, to circle it, only. With nobility what with hands we fashion, O Lord, is your temple's many services, intending only. Unceasing melting, thinking of you, the stream of tears flowing, what with the eye we see: in whichever world, all that is seen, is the one state in which you stand as them. This dog's head going to anything other than the way of your feet even if the surging sea overturns, is not fitting. Therefore the false-ascetic hunters, to catch in their hands, the long net of deceitful words casting, the pit of sects preparing, there, where it lies ready, human beasts forcibly driving in, in endless vows trapping and sinking them, the crooked understanding, to me will it come? Stirring, the foam and the waves and the swirling eddies and the boundless masses of spray; the roaring sea swelling and shrinking, shining things appearing, becoming countless, subside in the great sea: like that nature, all that moves and stands appearing in you, subsides in you. You you do not appear from any one thing, you do not subside into any one thing; for the heavenly ones you are hard; to the Vedas you are not reached; into the midst of the people of the four Vedas entering, settling, of the red-gold old town Tillai in the Hall dancing, O Lord of the heavens!
