In plain words
Rich One of eight shoulders, on whose broad expanse bees roam, on whose matted hair, bearing a cool fragrant garland, the leaping Gaṅgā sways above the moon! My Father, whose body is of two sides, a woman's earring on one side and a man's earring on the other! The one great God of unwinking eye, who performs the drama in the golden Hall of Tillai, the old town of loud-sounding fields! Father, whom the heavenly ones worship! In a forest at one edge of a grove of fresh mandāra that pours a rain of honey, where bees go about, a divine pavilion is built. There I might mount a couch of five kinds borne by lions and sit in pride, a lovely chest for women with unwinking eyes and unsated gaze to drink in: the bliss of the heavenly ones in their unfailing wealth. If I attain that, let me attain it. Or suddenly the cruel-tongued ones, twisted with fierce anger, might strike me and drag me, charge me with faults, cut me and split me, strike and bore through me, strip me and hack me, give me to mad dogs, put me in the oil-press, pour fiery liquid into me, and press me down for many long ages in the worm-filled pit of filthy mire. If I reach hell, with its painful, boundless punishment and its unchanging harsh sorrow, let me reach it. If others in their talk, fond of me without end, say I am a good man, let them say it. If those same people say I am not, let them say it. If I sink into pleasure, revelling in unstaying fortune with great abundance undiminished, let me sink. If sorrow that is no pleasure crowds upon me, let it crowd. If I live forever, keeping company with the youth of former days and never nearing the far end of age, let me live. Or else, if I die this very day, let me die. In nothing have I desire; in nothing have I aversion. For, manly Chief, gathering with your devotees, I have gained the power to reach your divine dance and to approach your red feet. I have obtained the wealth that cannot be obtained.

On the matted hair that bears a cool fragrant garland the leaping Gaṅgā swaying above the moon, O Rich One of eight shoulders, on whose expanse bees roam! On one side the woman's earring, on one side the man's earring, my Father whose body is of two sides! Of the loud-sounding fields, Tillai, the old town, in the golden Hall performing the drama, of unwinking eye, the one great God, whom the heavenly ones worship, O Father! Of fresh mandāra pouring rain of honey, where bees move, in a forest at one edge, built, in a divine pavilion, a couch of five kinds borne by lions, mounting; women with unwinking eyes, with unsated gaze, drinking in the lovely chest, sitting in pride, the heavenly ones' bliss of unfailing wealth: that indeed, if I attain, let me attain. Suddenly the cruel-tongued ones, with great anger twisting, striking and dragging, charging with faults, cutting and splitting, striking and boring, stripping and hacking, giving to mad dogs, putting in the oil-press, pouring fiery liquid, in the worm-filled pit, in mire of filth, for many long ages pressing down; painful, boundless punishment, unchanging harsh sorrow, hell, if I reach, let me reach. In their talk others, endlessly fond of me, if they say good man, let them say; those same if they say not, let them say. Unstaying revelling with fortune, great abundance not decaying, in pleasure if I sink, let me sink; not pleasure, sorrow, if it crowds, let it crowd. With former youth keeping company, extreme old age not nearing, if I live forever, let me live; or else if I die this very day, let me die. In anything I have no desire; I have no aversion, O manly Chief! With your devotees gathering, your divine dance and your red feet to reach and to approach, having gained, because the unobtainable wealth has been obtained.
