In plain words

Sky, wind, fire, water, earth, the moon, the sun and the soul are his own form; he has the hide of an elephant that the wicked prized. He is our Supreme, he of Ēkampam in Kanchi, who comes to his servants so that they never falter, the Supreme of us all. To those who know him he is a good companion.

Line by line

Sky, wind, fire, water, earth, the moon, the sun, the soul, he who has the hide of an elephant that the wicked prized: these are his own form; our Supreme, he of Ēkampam in Kanchi, who comes to guard so that they do not falter, our Supreme, to his servants; to those who know, a good companion indeed.
