In plain words

He bowed to the anklet of Kampar, who took the bow full in his bountiful hand, and went to battle to conquer the foe, and he does not think of us. The sea has turned to rain cloud, darkened, and poured. O girl of fine jewels, through whom shall we find rest from swimming this sea of viṉai?

Line by line

Having bowed to the anklet of Kampar, who took the bow full in his bountiful hand, he who went to battle to conquer the foe does not think of us; from the sea turning to water, it darkened and poured; O girl of fine jewels, we, through whom, from swimming the sea of viṉai, shall find rest?
