In plain words
Yaśōdā calls: "You tied palm-leaves to a calf's tail, flung a calf [that a demon had entered] at the wood-apple tree [another demon] so that its fruit came tumbling down, and then ran after a snake [Kāḷiya], caught it and shook it about, it seems! I cannot fathom your ways, master of mischief. This is the good and holy day you were born, and you must bathe well; Nāraṇa, do not run away, come!"
