The poet, of Tiruvaraṅgam: When the hunchbacked maid [Mantharā] spoke evil words against his coronation, he heard the harsh words from the mouth of the cruel one [Kaikēyī], gave up there the mother [Kausalyā] who bore and reared him, and the kingdom, went down the path dense with forest, and rooted out the rākṣasas, who were thorns [to the sages]: his town is the place called Tiruvaraṅgam, with its groves of flowers ever full of honey.
