Amutaṉār: Kali the base crushes the earth and devours it. Even when Rāmānuja's desirable auspicious qualities had crushed Kali's strength, which is beyond thought, they did not shine out; only after they burnt that load of books in the southern realm [the world of Yama] where my heaped-up deeds were recorded did they come into their full worth.
