The days that come are the days that go. We must strike camp; there is no staying fixed here. The company is moving off, and we shall move too. The journey is long, and death is over our heads. Why are you asleep? Wake up, you simple thing. You took this life in the world to be the true one. *(refrain)* The one who gave you life sends the *rizq* that keeps you. Inside every body he keeps a shop running. Do your *bandagī*; let go of I and mine. Hold the Nām in your heart, and hold it early. Your life has run out and the road was never made ready. Evening has fallen and the ten directions are dark. Says Ravidās, in the end, madman, you take no heed, and the world is a house that perishes. *rizq*, the portion of food a servant is given; *bandagī*, the service he owes for it.
