Mukand, Mukand: say the name, world. Without Mukand the body comes to nothing. That same Mukand is the giver of release. That same Mukand is my father and my mother. Mukand while I live, Mukand when I die. His servant has a joy that never leaves him. *(refrain)* Mukand, Mukand is the breath in me. Say Mukand, and the mark of him is on your forehead. It is Mukand the bairāgī serves. That same Mukand is the wealth the weak man has found. The one Mukand does me this kindness. What can the world do to me? My caste is rubbed out and I have come into the court. You alone, Mukand, are able to carry an age across. Knowing has risen in me and the light has broken. He took pity and picked up the worm, his slave. Says Ravidās, now the thirst is over. Say Mukand, and serve him and no one else.
