In plain words

The poet, to those who fault his harsh words: All that the epics and the old tales speak of rests within the will of Kaṇṇaṉ. Whoever is not absorbed in his fitting qualities, without letting even a moment's span slip by, is a thing that brings harm [to others]. So come, reach the feet of the one whose qualities are flawless.
