In plain words

The poet: The bright serpent [Sumukha], unable to withstand his enemy from birth [Garuḍa], came trusting to the Lord's bed, wide as the sea with its spreading waves, for refuge; and the Lord cherished him and set him on the strong body of that very enemy. Apart from that wondrous Lord of great form, my tongue will praise nothing at all.
