In plain words
The poet, to the Lord: You took up a mountain [Mandara] and churned the waters of the sea; and more than that, you took up mountains [with the monkey troops] and built a dam across the waters of the sea, and destroyed the defences of Laṅkā, ringed by the sea and by walls raised on the mountain [Trikūṭa]. Are you not the one of the colour of the rain-cloud, who held up a mountain [Gōvardhana] and guarded the cows and the herd-folk from the rain?
