In plain words

The poet, to the Lord: You saved the elephant [Gajendra]; and besides that, as a son of the herdsmen you killed a matchless elephant [Kuvalayāpīḍa]; you tend the cows and eat the ghee of the cows; that day [when Indra sent the storm], with a single hill [Gōvardhana], you guarded the cows; and long ago, for the girl [Piṉṉai] whose eyes are lined with kohl and streaked with red, you went before her and crushed the seven bulls. What wonder is this wonder!
