In plain words

The poet, of the world: The white of milk, the red of fine gold, the fresh green of the surface of moss, and the dark of the lily in the lovely pool where the bees spread their wings and roam: these colours are seen in all their fullness in the form of Māl, who rules the four ages [Kṛta, Trētā, Dvāpara and Kali, one colour to each]. That the people of the world have slighted the simplicity of such a Māl: what a nature is this!
