The poet, of the Lord: The Lady born of the flower and the Lady Earth are his queens; and besides, the four-faced one [Brahmā], who dwells in the lotus, is his son; and, if one speaks by the Veda, he who shares half his body with a woman and rides the bull [Śiva] is that one's son. This is what the books of the Veda teach; it is the truth, and if one says otherwise there is no truth in it.
