In plain words
The poet, to the Lord: O beloved of Piṉṉai! O you of the colour of the pūvai flower! I have heard it said that [Yama's messengers] mean to show me the hard sinful deeds I have done, fix my mind on suffering their fruit, and do to me what is far from good. Take that away; and do not put me away from you, me, who have bound my very soul to you.
