In plain words
The poet, to the Lord of Araṅgam: O you who set tulasi on your crown, O you who dwell in the great city of Araṅgam! Rather than masters of the four Vedas who are strangers to service and do not hold it as their own, do you not delight in servants who love your close-set feet, even if they are born fallen to the lowest rank of birth, lower even than the outcastes!
