त्यक्तां त्वचमहिर्यद्वदात्मत्वेन न मन्यते ।आत्मत्वेन सदा ज्ञानी त्यक्तदेहत्रयं तथा ॥ १७ ॥
In plain words
A snake slides out of its skin and never once looks back and thinks, that is me. The jñānī is the same. The three bodies he has left behind — gross, subtle, causal — he never, at any moment, takes for the Self.

Just as a snake does not regard the cast-off skin as being itself, so too the knower never regards the three abandoned bodies as being the Self.
