The works of Ādi Śaṅkarācārya

Advaitānubhūtiḥ

Verse 28

In plain words

Bodies made of the elements, and everything built out of the elements — they shine only through their connection with your own Self. Take the Self away, and how would they shine like that anywhere at all?

Close to the Sanskrit

Of bodies made of the elements and of what is elemental, the shining-forth is from connection with one's own Self. Without the Self, how could their shining-forth ever be so, anywhere?
