In plain words
You have worn your body thin with fasting — what of it? You have sons by your own wife — what of it? You have mastered prāṇāyāma, the breath under perfect command — what of it, if you never once came face to face with your own Ātma?
Close to the Sanskrit
The body has been afflicted by fasts — from that, what? Sons have been obtained from one's own wife — from that, what? Or prāṇāyāma has been mastered — from that, what? — for one by whom his own Ātma was not at all directly realized.
