The works of Ādi Śaṅkarācārya

Aparokṣānubhūtiḥ

Verse 106

त्यागः प्रपञ्चरूपस्य चिदात्मत्वावलोकनात् ।त्यागो हि महतां पूज्यः सद्यो मोक्षमयो यतः ॥ १०६ ॥

In plain words

Renunciation is the falling away of the whole spread-out world, and it happens by seeing that all of it is consciousness — the Self. This is the renunciation the great ones honour, because it is not a road to freedom. It is freedom, now.

Close to the Sanskrit

Renunciation of that which has the form of the manifold world [arises] from beholding [it all] as consciousness-Self. That renunciation indeed is honoured by the great, since it consists of immediate liberation.
