Aparokṣānubhūtiḥ

Verse 34

यस्मात्परमिति श्रुत्या तया पुरुषलक्षणम् ।विनिर्णीतं विशुद्धेन कथं स्याद्देहकः पुमान् ॥ ३४ ॥

In plain words

Śruti clearly points to Puruṣa as that which is beyond. The body therefore cannot be the conscious Self that scripture reveals.

By that Śruti declaration concerning what is beyond, the characteristic of Puruṣa is clearly determined. How then could the body be Puruṣa?
