The works of Ādi Śaṅkarācārya

Aparokṣānubhūtiḥ

Verse 63

In plain words

It is water alone that keeps flashing out as every ripple and every breaker. It is copper alone that stands there in the shape of pot and plate. In just this way, Selfhood alone appears as flood upon flood of universes.

Close to the Sanskrit

Just as water alone shines forth amply as ripples and billows, and copper indeed in the form of vessels — so too Selfhood, as floods of universes.
