The works of Ādi Śaṅkarācārya

Aparokṣānubhūtiḥ

Verse 93

In plain words

The body you wear in a dream is superimposed — and this body, exactly the same. What is superimposed: where would its birth come from? And with no birth, where would it get anything to stand on?

Close to the Sanskrit

Just as the dream-body is superimposed, exactly so indeed is this little body. For that which is superimposed, whence birth? And in the absence of birth, whence continuance?
