The works of Ādi Śaṅkarācārya

Ardhanārīśvarastotram

Verse 7

प्रपञ्चसृष्ट्युन्मुखलास्यकायैसमस्तसंहारकताण्डवाय ।जगज्जनन्यै जगदेकपित्रेनमः शिवायै च नमः शिवाय ॥ ७ ॥

In plain words

Her body is the soft lāsya dance, turned outward toward the making of this whole spread-out world; his is the tāṇḍava that gathers all of it back and ends it. Mother of the world, sole father of the world — I bow to Śivā, and I bow to Śiva.

Close to the Sanskrit

To her whose body is the graceful lāsya-dance turned toward the creation of the manifold world; to him whose tāṇḍava-dance destroys all; to the mother of the world, to the one father of the world — salutation to Śivā, and salutation to Śiva.
