The works of Ādi Śaṅkarācārya

Ātmabodhaḥ

Verse 25

In plain words

Light belongs to the sun, coolness to water, heat to fire. Just so, being, consciousness, bliss, timelessness, and unstained purity are the ātman's own nature.

Close to the Sanskrit

Just as light is of the sun, coolness of water, heat of fire — [so] being-consciousness-bliss, eternity, and stainlessness are the intrinsic nature of the Self.
